FAQS
- 01Rather than choosing from a long list of treatments, simply select the treatment pathway that best matches your needs. For example: Massage Therapy or Facial Therapy or Advanced Clinical Massage or TMJ & Jaw Therapy. Following a detailed consultation and, where appropriate, an assessment, your treatment will be tailored to your individual goals, concerns and presentation on the day. If you're unsure which service is most suitable, please get in touch and I'll be happy to help.

- 21Absolutely. Many clients visiting Juliana Rego Therapies are receiving professional massage treatment for the first time. Your appointment will begin with a detailed consultation, giving you the opportunity to discuss your goals, concerns, medical history and any questions you may have. Everything will be explained clearly, and treatment will be adapted to your comfort level. There is no expectation for you to know what to book, what to wear or how treatment works. Guidance will be provided throughout your appointment to help you feel comfortable and informed.
- 22It's completely normal to feel a little apprehensive before your first appointment. Whether you're new to massage, concerned about a particular symptom, or simply unsure what to expect, your comfort and wellbeing are always the priority. Appointments take place in a professional, welcoming and judgement-free environment where there is time to discuss your concerns, ask questions and ensure you feel comfortable before treatment begins. Many clients tell me they feel much more at ease within the first few minutes of their appointment.

- 26No. A doctor's referral is not required to book an appointment. However, if you have a complex medical history, recent injury, have recently undergone surgery, or are currently receiving treatment from another healthcare professional, you may be asked to seek medical clearance before treatment can proceed. If you are unsure whether treatment is suitable for you, please get in touch prior to booking.
- 27
- 28Your first appointment will typically include: • Consultation and health history review • Discussion of your goals and concerns • Assessment where appropriate • Hands-on treatment • Aftercare and self-care recommendations The exact structure will vary depending on the service booked and your individual needs.
- 29Not necessarily. While some techniques used during Massage Therapy, TMJ & Jaw Therapy and Advanced Clinical Massage may feel intense, treatment should always remain within your comfort levels. More pressure does not always produce better results. Treatment is tailored to your individual needs, and you are encouraged to provide feedback throughout the session. The aim is to create positive and lasting change, not unnecessary discomfort.
- 30
- 31To help you get the most from your treatment, I recommend: • Arriving a few minutes early for your appointment • Wearing comfortable clothing • Staying hydrated before and after treatment • Avoiding a large meal immediately beforehand • Completing any intake forms in advance where required • Bringing details of any medications, recent injuries or relevant medical information If you have any questions before your appointment, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
- 32
- 33Not always. The amount of clothing removed will depend on the treatment being provided and the area being worked on. Your comfort, dignity and privacy are always prioritised. Appropriate draping techniques are used throughout treatment, and only the area being treated will be exposed. Many treatments can also be adapted to be performed through light clothing where appropriate. You are always encouraged to wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable, and treatment options can be discussed before we begin.
